Founders Loft is proud to announce that Rivus Batteries, one of our incubator companies, has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious E-Prize 2024. This energy innovation award, presented by Dagens industri and Aktuell Hållbarhet in collaboration with E.ON, highlights companies driving the energy transition with innovative solutions. This year’s finalists represent the hottest trends in battery technology, digitalization, and AI, and the finalists' pitch films were showcased this morning on DI and Aktuell Hållbarhet’s platforms.
Rivus Batteries is competing in the "Renewable Energy" category and is one of three selected finalists, alongside Meva Energy and Raymond Solar – all companies whose innovations contribute to accelerating the energy transition. Rivus was also represented on the E-Prize panel earlier today, where they had the opportunity to share their vision and technology.

Innovative Technology for the Future of Energy Storage
Rivus Batteries has developed groundbreaking technology for flow batteries based on water-based organic electrolytes. Instead of using heavy metals like vanadium – which often need to be imported from countries like China and Russia – Rivus uses organic materials that can be synthesized from standard bulk substances available in unlimited quantities. This technology has the potential to revolutionize energy storage by offering a more sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional batteries.
Rivus was founded in 2019 as a spin-off from Chalmers University of Technology and has further developed its technology through collaborations with Åbo University and the Technical University of Denmark. Since then, the company has seen rapid growth and established itself as a leading player in flow battery technology.

The winners of E-Prize 2024 will be announced at the "Hållbart Näringsliv" conference on November 21. Regardless of the outcome, Rivus Batteries has already positioned itself as a key player in the energy transition.
