Gothenburg-based Rivus Batteries has won first prize in the internationally recognized pitch competition at The Business Booster 2024 (TBB2024), an event organized by EIT InnoEnergy. The competition took place during InnoEnergy's annual conference, which gathered leading players in sustainable energy technology and innovation.
Rivus Batteries, which has been part of the Founders Loft incubator since winning the Founders Challenge 2023, impressed the jury with their groundbreaking battery technology and their ability to present their concept to investors and other industry experts.
The team, led by Cedrik Wiberg, Andreas Kölling, and Lisa Åkerlund, has worked tirelessly over the years to develop a sustainable and efficient battery solution for the future's energy needs. This award is a testament to their extensive research and hard work.

Fierce competition with over 120 startups
The competition at The Business Booster was tough, with over 120 startups participating. Rivus Batteries emerged as the final winner, but Nordic SeaFarm, led by Simon Hilmersson, also made an impressive showing and reached the top 5. Second and third place in the pitch competition went to PIONIERKRAFT and hysun.
InnoEnergy's CEO, Diego Pavia, summarized the event with three key messages:
